What are polystyrene boxes made of?

Our polystyrene boxes are made from Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), a lightweight, rigid foam material known for its excellent thermal insulation and shock absorption.

Are polystyrene boxes food safe?

Yes, food-grade EPS is non-toxic and safe for direct contact with food, making it ideal for transporting perishables like seafood, meat, dairy, or produce.

Can I get custom sizes or branding?

We always have standard boxes available in stock. Bespoke sizes and branding will involve time and additional cost to produce, hence we will only consider enquiries from serious buyers and minimum turnover of £10k per month.

How long can polystyrene boxes keep contents cold?

This depends on wall thickness, external temperature, whether ice packs or dry ice are used. End result will vary from application to application and we always recommend trialling boxes for your individual requirements.

Are these boxes reusable?

Yes — while they’re often used for single shipments, EPS boxes can be reused multiple times if handled with care, especially in closed-loop systems.

Are they waterproof?

EPS is moisture-resistant, meaning it doesn’t absorb water and is ideal for wet or icy conditions, such as seafood packaging.

Do they meet any specific industry standards?

Our polystyrene boxes comply with HACCP and EU food contact standards.

Can they be recycled?

Yes, EPS is 100% recyclable, though recycling availability depends on local facilities. Some suppliers also offer return and reuse programs.

What's the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

There is no minimum order quantity on our website, however wholesale prices will be offered to orders with quantities exceeding 3+ pallets. Contact us with your requirements.

Are they suitable for air freight?

Yes. Their lightweight structure helps reduce shipping costs, especially for temperature-sensitive cargo in air or express transport.
